QRD Ferrox M5 USB Dongle Firmware Version 1.26 Release
Firmware V1.26 improves stability and communication between the QRD FERROX M5 controller and the USB wireless dongle:
- Joystick sensitivity improvements.
- Polling rates improvements.
2. How to Update the USB Dongle (Windows PC)
Important Precaution
Improper firmware update operations may cause controller malfunction. Please follow the steps strictly. If the update fails or the controller behaves abnormally, refer to the troubleshooting section at the end.
Step 1 — Download

Download the V1.26 Firmware Updater from the official QRD website
Step 2 — Run the Updater

Open the firmware update tool on your Windows PC
Before downloading, disable the computer’s firewall and all third-party antivirus software to prevent download failure due to program interception.
2. Locate the downloaded firmware file and double-click to launch it.
If a C++ error prompt appears when opening the file:
① Try right-clicking the file, select Properties > Compatibility, check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode", and choose a compatible Windows version to run the file.
② If the error persists, attempt the update on a computer with a different Windows operating system.

Do not plug in the dongle yet
Step 3 — Enter Update Mode

Make sure the USB dongle is not connected

Press and hold the “PAIR” button

While holding the button, insert the USB dongle into the PC

After the dongle is fully inserted, release the PAIR button
Step 4 — Start Update

In the updater tool, click Update

The firmware flashing process will begin automatically

Do not remove the dongle during the update

When complete, a Success message will be displayed
Your USB dongle is now updated to V1.26.
How to Re-Pair
✔ (1)On the Controller

Turn ON the controller

Hold HOME button for 3 seconds
-
The controller enters pairing mode (LED flashes fast)
✔ (2)On the USB Dongle

Press and hold PAIR button for 3 seconds
-
LED indicator begins flashing fast
When both devices are in pairing mode, they will connect automatically.
Once paired, the LED on both devices will remain steadily ON.
